A joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Colombo West and the Rotary Club of Metropolitan was held on the 12th August 2020, with the guest speaker for the meeting Dr. Y. K. M. Lahie, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon addressing the membership of both club.
The Rotary Club of Colombo West and the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan, through the “Save a little heart” project are currently providing financial assistance to support heart surgeries for children who have congenital heart diseases and through the support extended by Dr. Lahie and his team has completed numerous surgeries successfully.
Several members of both clubs including the Immediate Past District Governor S. Karunakaran and District Secretary Dinali Bandaranyake-Dandeniya as well and President Ruwan Gunasena of the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan and President Brian Selvanayagam of the Rotary Club of Colombo West attended the meeting.
Rotary which commenced in 1905, is a global network whose membership now exceeds 1.2 million in over 200 countries who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change. Rotary in Sri Lanka has more than 2000 Rotarians in over 70 Rotary Clubs.
