Rotary CW wins Best Club, Best President, Best Treasurer awards !!

The Galadari Ballroom was a bower of bloom with over 400 guests attending the Gala Rotary awards nights to recognize the humanitarian work done by 72 club in Sri Lanka & Maldives.

the Rotary club of colombo west was rewarded with over 35 awards & accolades including Best Club, Best President for Rtn. Roshan Perera & Best Treasurer for Rtn. PP Harin Fernando.

Miss Intercontinental Joins Rotary

President of the Rotary Club of Colombo West Mr. Roshan Perera, International Understanding Director Mr. Pravir Samarasinghe and PP. Rtn, Jerome Rajendram were present when the wheel chairs were donated for a group of children and elders.

The project was an initiative by Rtn. Pravir Samarasinghe  to help the  Beautiful Contestants better understand all aspects of life in sri lanka after a some fun filled days of exploring the wonder of the Island.

a special thanks gos to Miss Lucille of the John Keells group for her efforts in making this a success.

The children and elders who the recipients of the wheel chairs which were donated by the Rotary Club of Suncity, Australia were given cash gifts aswell.

First Ever Joint meeting in SL with Foreign Rotary Club..!!


It was a Historic day indeed when on the 17th of October’16 the Rotary Club of Colombo West and the Rotary Club of Bengalaru had a joint meeting at the Havelock City club house in Sri Lanka.

This is the first time such a  meeting has taken place in Sri Lanka, the event was marked as an International Understanding Project under the Leadership of its Director Pravir Samarasinghe.

the following were some significant events that took place that night;

1.  a Joint Meeting was held by the two clubs presided by RCW President Roshan Perera and RCB President Ravi M, ably flanked past District Governor Krish Rajendran and International Director Pravir Samarasinghe.

2. a sister club agreement was singed between the two clubs and  flags were exchanged

3. District Govenor Senaka Amerasinghe Graced the occasion.

Rotary Colombo West & Hamamatsu South Strengthens its ties…


Past President Rtn. Jith Seneviratne, on a visit to Japan addressed a gathering of our sister club… the Rotary Club of Hamamatsu South and presented them with a Jewel encrusted Elephant as a token of our continued friendship.

The Hamamatsu club has partnered with RCW in many projects including the protecting of rain forests, building Toilets in Ampara, student exchange etc
